The school cannot end soon enough. I cannot deal with the school or the teacher any more. I give up and will take up this project again in September.
Here is the latest.
Thursday, we have a voice mail from school telling us that there was an incident in school involving Rebekah and that we should call the school. We got this message at 8pm. Rebekah was home, happy and healthy. To our inquiries, she said she has no clue what the incident is and how she was involved. I tell her that I will be calling school tomorrow morning.
Friday morning I call school’s main office. They transfer me a few times and I finally end up speaking with someone who knows what happened. Here is what happened according to that woman, I did not fully understand who she was and what is her position in school. Please remember that this conversation took place Friday morning.
Apparently, either on Monday or Tuesday (she could not remember!) Rebekah took hand sanitizer and put it all over Hank’s folder. Hank is Rebekah’s deskmate.
According to this woman, Rebekah’s teacher, Ms. Idiot, forgot to address this and took Rebekah and Hank to this woman’s office the next day (!) where they were questioned about the incident. Rebekah said that Hank has been bugging her and in fact he’s been bugging her all year and she just put hand sanitizer on his folder. Hank, from what I understand, had no defense.
Then I was told that Hank was let go back to class and Rebekah was punished by having to stay in this woman’s office and read a book instead of going outside during recess. This was on Wednesday of last week.
Then this woman forgot to call us (!) on Wednesday and only got around to calling us on Thursday afternoon. In addition, the message she left us, gave no indication on what kind of incident it was. I did tell that in the future I would prefer to have incident described on the phone in the voice mail as to not have me and my husband worry overnight that something serious may’ve happened. *facepalm*
We got no information about this incident from Rebekah’s teacher at all (!!!!!!!!!). Apparently she did not read a line in the letter I send her saying to please contact us when Rebekah’s behavior becomes distractive to other students in the class. She must’ve run out of index cards. *eye roll*
I did not tell Rebekah that I talked to school as I had no intention on punishing her for this incident. She had a very important and busy weekend coming up and I was not going to ruin it for her. In addition, the situation with my grandma made me not in the mood to deal with school.
And a few words about Hank, Rebekah’s deskmate. Rebekah has been complaining that he’s been bugging her all year. I asked her several times if she said something to her teacher and she said yes. I have never addressed the Hank issue with the teacher, so I don’t know what exactly Rebekah did not did not say to her and how teacher addressed or did not address the issue. As for Hank, I don’t think anybody is touching that boy and his mom with a ten foot pole. Hank has leukemia. He is constantly in and out of doctors and misses about 50% of school. Last year, school wanted to keep him in 1st grade for the second year as did not perform well, understandably so. Hank’s mom raised hell in school and somehow managed to get school to moved Hank to 2nd grade. In addition, Hank has some behavioral issues, but I don’t know the details.

1. или это было неважно
2. или эти учителя В ПРИНЦИПЕ так относятся к своей работе :(((

Date: 2010-06-13 08:24 am (UTC)Насколько я помню, за почти 9 месяцев был только один случай, когда хост-маме позвонили из школы. Когда младший мальчик принес в школу ipod, и стал снимать всех кого не лень. Я считаю, ему тогда справедливо попало.
