Is 11 years a long time? Depends on how you look at it. Yesterday Adam and I celebrated our 11th anniversary. It feels both a very long time and like it just flew by in one moment. I know it is long because I can barely remember the time when I was without him. Now, I don't know how to get through the day without having him next to me. At the same time, it feels like we only met recently, we have our whole relationship ahead of us and the eternity to spend together.
So yesterday we did what we do every year on December 29th - dinner and a movie, just like our first date. Choice of movies remained goofy as ever, choice of dinner has gradually changed over the years from a pub to a 5-star restaurants. Yesterday we did a classical combination of George Clooney ("Up in the Air") and Morimoto at his restaurant. The cool part is that Morimoto was there, we got to talk to him, and the dinner was amazing. I will post review of the restaurant and chef's menu later.
What amazed me even more was my own husband. For somebody who is very conservative when it comes to trying new foods, he broke all of his own barriers a tried a number of things for the first time in his life. I, too, tried sake for the first time in my life. Oh, that was one wicked smooth sake. Totally sneaked up on me at the end.
And did I mentioned that it was cold? I mean really cold - 16 degrees with 50 miles/hour winds. As much as I love walking around Manhattan, it was cabs for us all the way.
PS: I will be catching up on my friend list and reading all of your posts for the past week, I promise.
